The Shaler North Hills Library has a wonderful, crazy, inspiring, enchanting, educational, ginormous, action-packed summer planned just for you! More than 3,000 children and teens took part in our Summer Reading Extravaganza last year and we hope to see many more this year.
Live in Shaler? Live in Ross? Live in Moon? Live on the Moon? It doesn’t matter where you live, how old you are, or what your learning style is, we have something for you. Our classes and events are free of charge and open to all. From Book Babies to LEGO WeDo Robotics, from Drama Club to Barbie Night, Date Night with Dad, Reading Readiness and more, we want to make your summer special. We encourage you to visit the Township of Shaler and spend the day! We have some great local restaurants and many parks for you to explore after or before a class or event at the Shaler North Hills Library.
In addition to our many programs, we offer reading incentive clubs for all ages. Keep track of the reading you do this summer and earn Book Bucks to purchase prizes in our Summer Reading Store. Shaler Township is located less than six miles north of Pittsburgh. Our Library was humbled to receive the National Medal for Museum and Library Services in 2012 and has been awarded several Best Practices in Early Literacy Awards from the Pennsylvania Library Association. We strive to provide quality services to children and their families and caregivers. The Shaler North Hills Library isn’t a quiet Library, but we believe you will find it to be a friendly, magical place where staff is dedicated to serving you.
