At Macaroni Kid Pittsburgh North we love any excuse to find new ways to preserve and enjoy planet earth and celebrate the resources we have each day and get creative on how we can grow and share these resources and ideas with family, friends and our communities!

Pine Community Earth Day Event - April 26

DetailsBe sure to save the date for this year's Town of Pine Earth Day Celebration happening on Saturday, April 26th from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Pine Community Center. Everyone is welcome to join the Earth Day Fun with freebies, market vendor samples, activities, workshops, entertainment and more! Latodami Nature Center Earth Day Events - April 2025

DetailsA host of Earth Day opportunities will be available including Latodami Earth Day Barn Visit, Tree Planting, Nature Walks and more.  Latodami Nature Center provides guided programs designed to get people out into the natural world and investigate the wide diversity of habitats and wildlife found in our Allegheny County parks and western Pennsylvania region. Year-round programming is available to the public, as well as schools, scouts, and private groups.

DetailsA dynamic exhibit at the Center for Sustainable Landscapes addresses the pressing environmental issues of our time and proposes a new way of thinking about how to solve them.

Youth Eco-Action Showcase - April 16

DetailsHosted in the Special Events Hall and Tropical Forest, this free event will host a variety of activities for all ages. Sample plant-forward appetizers, peruse local art and fashion vendors, learn about Youth Climate Advocacy Committee work at their activity stations and view a sustainable art and fashion gallery created by local youth! Educators and students can also learn about YCAC and how they can join this amazing team. Registration link to come.

Eagle Eyes - Bald Eagle Watch - April 19

Details: Bald Eagles are our nation’s most majestic creatures. Through tremendous conservation efforts these birds went from near extinction in Pennsylvania to now over 300 nesting pairs. Come learn about their biology and their reintroduction journey with the park naturalists.

Latodami Volunteer Litter Clean Up and Friday Workdays

Details: Latodami Nature Center is always looking for individuals and groups interested in giving back to the outdoors and local environments. Outreach volunteer projects can be developed for to school, scout, company, and private groups. Opportunities are available year-round to learn, exercise, relax and contribute.
