Description
KidsVoice's signature awareness event, Kites for Kids, returns May 18, 2024, to Carnegie Science Center. Thousands of guests will pass through the doors of Carnegie Science Center, including many KidsVoice clients.
What is Kites for Kids?
Kites symbolize the potential for a child to soar and a hope for a world full of happy childhoods. Our signature awareness event, Kites for Kids, invites our clients—children and youth in Allegheny County who are in the foster care system—to anonymously have a fun day learning and exploring at Carnegie Science Center alongside the community at large.
During the event, kites decorated by our clients adorn the Center's signature ramp, providing a glimpse into these children's lives. Special games and activities presented by KidsVoice and our sponsors add a bit of extra fun.
Carnegie Science Center teams up with KidsVoice , a leader among Allegheny County child advocacy organizations, to celebrate Kites for Kids on Sat., May 18. From 10 am–3 pm, visitors will soar through hands-on demonstrations featuring games, crafts, and other kite-flying themed activities. In addition, the Science Center will be adorned with hundreds of KidsVoice client-decorated kites to symbolize hope, a happy childhood, and a chance to soar.
Over the years, Kites for Kids has welcomed thousands of families, and raised awareness and much-needed resources to protect our most vulnerable citizens. KidsVoice will be presenting its 18th annual Kites for Kids in 2024!
