Exploring the Art Work

If you get a chance stop by and enjoy The Giant Eagle Creativity Zone at the Trust Oasis on 7th Street. You can explore the art galleries like the exhibition, "Taking Up Space" by artist Kennedy Yanko, or "alachian [ah-LATCH-en" a celebration of the Appalachian Region. Also, visit local artist Jim West's "Utterance" which is an interactive art exhibit located in The Backyard at 8th and Penn. People can download a QR code and record their answer to the question: How can we communicate better?

Also, at the Backyard you can visit the colorful artwork of Laurie Shapiro entitled, "We Are All Connected to Each Other Through Nature." It is located near the Anthropology of Motherhood.  This is a functional art installation. You, for sure, don't want to miss, Squonk's Hand to Hand at the Backyard which will be here on Saturday and Sunday, 10th and 11th only! Adults have an opportunity to view free films at the Harris Theater including Thelonious Monk, Rewind and Play, What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat and Tears, and Little Richard: I am Everything. Finally, if you have the time, you can enjoy a 2-act 90 min. play by the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company entitled, "12:52 The Mike Webster Story."

Finding your way around

One of the exciting features for families of the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival is the Giant Eagle Creativity Zone, located at Trust Oasis (133 7th Street). With 20 arts organizations and community partners from throughout the region, families can engage in hands-on activities every day from 12 pm to 6 pm. The Creativity Zone provides a great opportunity for children and parents to explore and discover new forms of art and creativity together, making it a must-visit destination during the festival. Plus, with new organizations joining the lineup each day, there's always something new to experience and enjoy!
