Sweetwater Center for the Arts

Creative Summer Experience

March 5, 2015

Sweetwater Center for the Arts offers weekly, half-day and full-day summer camps for ages 4-17 in the visual, performing and culinary arts.  Every week is a new adventure as campers explore various themes and art forms.  Summer camps run from June 8
th through August 14th, 2015.  Sweetwater’s classes and summer camps inspire competencies including Imaging, Creativity, Innovation, Transformation, Problem Solving, Team Building, and Presentation.  These programs lead students to live an enriching and fulfilling life full of inspiration.

Every year, Sweetwater offers the Creative Summer Experience a partnership with the Sewickley Community Center, for children ages 6-12.  This year’s NEW theme, Art Through the Ages, will encourage your child to learn about famous artists throughout history, from the famous cave paintings of Lascaux to the Pop Art of Any Warhol.  Each day, students will experience these lessons through performing arts, visual arts, educational play activities and group projects.  Children will swim daily (weather permitting) in the Community Center pool to beat the summer heat.  Certified lifeguards will be on duty.

New camps for this summer include:

The Life of Leonard

Shark Week

Hands, Feet, and Faces:  Sculpture Extraordinaire

Cooking Around the World

Teen Metalsmithing

Teen Science in the Kitchen

…and more!

Sweetwater has numerous need-based scholarships available for those demonstrating financial need.
