Our instructors are passionate about teaching children and teenagers the great game of golf and the values of discipline, etiquette, maturity and good sportsmanship that go along with it.
At Scally's, we believe that introducing your child to golf and nurturing his/her interest in the game is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give. Whether your child aspires to compete as an amateur or professional, join a school team, play to entertain business clients and customers, or just play for the fun of it, golf is a game your child can enjoy for a lifetime!
Our staff of PGA professionals offer private lessons throughout the spring and summer at special low prices for children and teenagers. They are glad to give lessons to any child at any age who is interested in learning the game.
Perhaps your child is more comfortable learning to play golf in a group setting rather than with a private lesson. Scally's offers a variety of options for group lessons. Instructors Chuck Scally, Jill Finlan-Scally, and Phil Scally offer a full schedule of spring and summer classes that meet one session per week for a series of 5 or 6 weeks. Chuck and Jill are also planning a series of summer day camps that meet every day for a week.
For the past 20+ years, we have had the honor and privilege of being selected as a host site for the nationally-recognized Nike Golf Camp. This is a 5-day camp for golfers age 9-16. Three sessions are offered this summer. The Nike Camp sessions are taught by our own PGA golf professionals Jerry Stone and Chuck Scally.
When your child is learning to play golf, it is really important that he or she has the right clubs and equipment. Typical off-the-shelf junior clubs may be too long or too short for your child. Be sure to visit the ClubFit Golf Shop at Scallys Golf Center for expert club fitting and custom clubs provided by shop owner Mike Peretto--all at a reasonable cost. Mike also sells golf bags, balls, gloves and other accessories your child will need to get started in the game.
Golf leagues at Scally's provide a great opportunity and relaxed atmosphere for young players of all ages and abilities to play together with other golfers. Our Leagues are also a great way for kids to learn golf rules and proper etiquette when playing on a course. We have the PeeWee League for ages 5-8 and the Junior League for ages 9-17. In addition, we offer free golf clinics in May of each year to introduce youngsters to the game and encourage them to join one of our leagues.
Last but not least, don't forget to check out our 18-Hole Miniature Golf Course. Our large painted animals, waterfall and challenging holes put an exciting new spin on the golf experience for children of all ages. And it's a great idea for birthday parties. We are glad to offer special package prices that include Miniature Golf, food items and ice cream from our snack bar and rental of our covered patio.
