GIANT Geo Board, Ninja Balloons and More!

Beat The Dog Days Of Summer Before They Happen!- SCREEN FREE

July 15, 2014

The Macaroni Kid moms have some BIG IDEAS--(LITERALLY) designed to keep the kids out of your hair AND OFF THE SCREEN during the dog days of summer!  Check out what we discovered on line and tried out ourselves!

Go Big Or Go Home!  That's our theme!

1.  Giant Geo Board   Here is the link to our inspiration!

You can go as BIG with this as you want.  I got a piece DOUBLE this size and just had it cut in half in order to transport it to KDKA.  But, the sizing is as limitless as the area you want to put it in.  Some bolts and nuts later plus a bag of rubberbands and there you have it.  Your own GIANT GEO BOARD.

2.  Big Head Balloon Ninjas  Here is the link to our inspiration!

I found dollar store metallic balloons.  I used a sharpie marker to make the mask and a white piece of paper to glue on top of the black mask to finish it.  Word to the wise, anything even remotely heavy will weigh down the balloons.  Markers are best and the paper was pushing it!  Scatter these about the house and let the kids ninja mission to attack them with foam swords, bow and arrows or ninja nerf guns!

3.  Jenga Big Game
We ordered the perfect sized box online that resemble giant Jenga blocks!  IF you're resourceful however you can take ANY cardboard box, cut it to size, fold it and re-tape it as you need it.  So if you've just moved and you have some TIME to create the boxes, you're in luck!  Otherwise, order the right size for your crew and let the games begin.  This is a HUGE hit at our events and never fails to impress the kiddos AND adults alike!

4.  Tapestry Table Here is the link to our inspiration!
We made ours out of some PVC piping we had left over from the "tent" we made for a TV segment.  Some duct tape underneath to pull and stretch the burlap and WALA!  Instant sewing table that is actually-- amazing.  Every season or holiday encourage the kids to "stitch" something themed.  Then hang it up and rotate out the artwork each season.  I bet most households don't have hand sewn artwork in them!

Have fun trying these great options for SCREEN FREE!
