This year I headed straight for L.L. Bean because I know myself that the packs are simply legendary for the durability and quality, let alone their style. When I was young-- these puppies were around! We walked through snow too, to get them.
What they didn't have then -- the versatility in "cute" and "cool" factor as far as designs and fashion options. L.L. Bean is SO WITH IT, without losing their signature feel. I love that. Look how many options are avialable to you!

OUR LOVE LIST FOR L.L. BEAN DISCOVERY BACK PACKS & LUNCH BOXES
1. The variable compartments. L. O. V. E!
No longer are binders and large math books squeezed in with those delicate spiral notebooks. How many times has your kiddos notebook cover ripped off because they're SQUEEZING it all into one compartment.
It makes for a mess and I can attest-- stress!
2. Reflective Trim
LOVE TO BE SMART!
The packs also sport reflectve trim.

Safety is a huge factor for me and I appreciate this addition to the packs on those dark bus stop mornings.
3. Graphic Design
LOVE BEING "WITH IT."
I am a design junky and I love a good "design" when I see it. These packs and their "stamped" look keep the cool factor rocking in an up to date manner. Did I mention the "SHARK" pack?
#SHARKWEEK Eat your heart out. This pack is BOLD, BRIGHT and seriously creative in its graphic design. The other designs are also notably worthy. My girls bee-lined for the dragon fly! The bold blue stood out and the whimsy science feel struck a cord with them. I myself loved the lime green Lizard pack.
4. Matching Lunch Packs
"LOVE TO MATCH!"
All packs of course have their own matching lunch box available for purchase. You can mix and match your action packs or pair them up accordingly.
The number one factor I LOVE and that you will too-- the shape of this lunchbox.
It zips with ease and it's fabulous depth allows for lots of healthy goodies without the smoosh factor.
There's also a mesh pocket inside perfect for an ice pack (be sure to read our lunch box safety article) as well as a lined interior that's super easy to wipe out and keep clean!
LOVE TO SUM IT ALL UP:
After
...filling these packs up with books, binders and the likes there of.
...carrying them ourselves and marveling at how much kids have to carry these days.
...requring our children to walk down to the "soon to be bus stop" with a full bag.
...stuffing the lunch packs full to the brim for smoosh factor.
...and subjecting the designs to our 6, 7, 9, and 10 year olds for approval.
