A Musical Celebration That Brought TEARS OF LAUGHTER!

Are you looking for ideas for an evening out? Do I have a suggestion for you! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see the musical revue, Side By Side By Sondheim at the CLO Cabaret Theater. Stephen Sondheim is considered to be the greatest living composer and lyricist. His works are celebrated in this production and I enjoyed every number.

Billy Hepfinger, Daniel Krell, Lenora Nemetz, and Caroline Nicolian were fantastic as they narrated and performed the life works of Sondheim.  The cast is interactive with the audience throughout the show and this venue proved perfect. The musical talent of the cast is exceptional, and when combined with the hilarious numbers that you will find, this is a show that you will not want to miss. There were parts that made me laugh so hard that I had tears!

Caroline’s “Losing My Mind” was riveting. Not only was her voice beautiful, but she was able to make me feel how distraught she was.  What had the audience howling with laughter was Lenora’s “I’ll Never Do Anything Twice”. Her mastery of facial expressions and other non-verbal cues kept me wondering what she would do next. My favorite number was undoubtedly “You Gotta Get a Gimmick” with Caroline, Billy and Lenora. I’m laughing even now as I type. Let’s just say that you have to see it to believe it!

Grab some fun people and go see this show. You will not be disappointed. This performance of Side by Side By Sondheim runs until August 18th. For show and ticket sale information click here.
