February 4, 2016

Cranberry kids will soon begin building the future, one Lego brick at a time, through two separate programs in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, under the guidance of instructors from Snapology Discovery Center of Cranberry

In the Robotics 101 workshop, children ages 9 to 13 will use Lego EV3 Intelligent bricks, which contain small computers, to create robotic problem-solving solutions.  In Star Wars, kids 5 to 12 will use Lego bricks to recreate artifacts from the popular movie franchise.  Both classes involve using building tools in imaginative ways that combine play with learning while stimulating an interest in engineering.

Robotics 101 meets for six one-hour classes on Thursdays, starting February 18 at 6:00 PM.  The Star Wars program meets during four one-hour Saturday sessions starting February 27 at 2:00 PM.

The Robotics 101 program fee is $175 for Cranberry residents.  The Star Wars course is $55.  Non-resident fees are $5 higher in each case.  Fees are payable at the time of registration and cover all material used in the class.  Registration is available in person at the Parks & Recreation Information Desk, by phone at 724-779-4 FUN (4386), or online at www.Cranberry4FUN.com/Register.
